In the Footprints of Rumi

Rumi’s poetry is an invaluable map of the heart and the spiritual realm, but layers of meaning are lost without understanding the mystical language and background. Explore this well-known scripture in a new way with native Persian speaking Pouria Montazeri.

Join us for the third year of this special event, sponsored by the Mt. Adams Zen Buddhist Temple at the Trout Lake Abbey. Come for the free public talk on Friday evening from 7-8:30 pm and stay for the daylong retreat on Saturday from 10-5:30 pm.

The daylong workshop will include embodiment practices to turn Rumi’s sacred poetry and teachings into portals for spiritual awakening and transformation:

Sacred remembrance practices (singing and movement)
Guided heart-centered meditations and movements
Sacred reading practices, journaling, and offerings
Introducing selected poems and discourses through exploring the spiritual and cultural context and idioms in Rumi’s work
